Transcript

Dance is an art form that can evoke a feeling, a thought, or for sheer delight. Dance is the manifestation of storytelling, in that it takes the viewer on a journey where language isn’t required. Archaeological studies have discovered 9,000 year old records of dance that may have been critical in the recording of history before written language. In times of high anxiety, stress, and panic, the language centers of the brain can shut down. That’s because trauma affects the brain and the way we move. Dance on the other hand is a connector, it’s actually our first language. It can evoke the feelings of tradition ,music, religion, and even art. Dance, it taps into the primitive centers of our brain, and it records our very first language.
