INVITATION TO ADVENTURE

I believe that Black and Indigenous women of color are on an unlikely journey spurred by both internal and external cravings to residcover the cultural heritage of our authentic selves. As with most journeys, the pathway to our destination is unmarked and there are multiple avenues to get there. The invitation to adventure is the call to rekindle our cultural gifts. In doing so, we stand more firmly in our power with the knowledge that we need not be at the head of the table because the table will shift to whoever is seated in their power.

THE BLUE LAKE EXPERIENCES

Powerful women need places of power to rediscover and reclaim cultural properties that support our authentic selves. The Blue Lake Project’s program strategy is centered around the exploration of our blended ethnic and cultural identities, aboriginal practices and belief systems as expressed through the modalities of art, music, dance, and storytelling. This strategy is grounded in the belief that one’s connection to these modalities is strongest in their place of origin. I invite you to join the adventure as we weave connections through The Blue Lake Experiences.
